GREAT DAY AT THE SCHOOL!

Went over to my local high school today hoping to find some clad coins. I hunt mainly for clad nowadays because all the older spots within a reasonable distance from me have been long hunted out. Believe me when I tell you that I really enjoy detecting for clad coins because there is so much of it everywhere. Today I found $21.47 in just a few hours. Sorry I don't have a picture this time, but I found 57 quarters, 54 dimes, 25 nickels, and 57 pennies. I honestly got tired of digging in the hot sun so I gave it up for the day, but I plan to go back soon to get the rest, as I only hunted about 30% of the area immediately around the school entrances.

I save up all my clad coins, put them in the tumbler to get the dirt off, roll them up, cash them in, and then use the money to buy gold and silver coins and bullion for my collection. You gotta love it! Thanks for reading and good hunting!

Great find today....yeah...we put all the clad we find into a canister and we will see what we have in a year's time. Going to use that for a family vacation. My dau was trying for Hawaii, but has changed her mind and is going to put in for Guam!! Oh yea, my metal detector is going with me!!!

So far, we have about 50 bucks in clad, haven't counted this past weeks finds to add into the already growing collection and this has been since April of this year!!!

Good luck on finding more. It does add up!!! HH

dang!!!! 21 dollars in a few hours,,thats awesome!!!!!!! i found a 44 merc and 7 dollars in clad at my old jr high school this week,, spent about 3 and a half hrs there,, congrats on all the coins you found

Great total for one day out, WTG!!!
I just took my first six months "clad finds for 2006" to the coinstar. Total was $46. 22. I had given my nephew about $15 worth of quarters to buy gas for his pocket bike, so my actual haul was right around $60. With the way your hunting, you'd have that in just a few days...

Re:hunting schools,sports fields;do ya'll find these days alot of those places are all fenced in,access seems to be more limited now days. >:(

Real good haul, I reallylike to coin shoot as well, Looking to buy some older coins at the end of the year, HH Art...

Great haul for a few hours of hunting. I haven't checked the schools lately. I need to go and check them again though. A couple of years ago i searched one local school that was fairly new, didn't come up with much that day but i did come up with a 1829 large cent.

WOW is all I can say!!!!

Even when I go hunting just for clad I can't find anywhere near that much! Even spots that should have clad are hunted out in my area, haha.
