Took a friend of mine to a spot a couple towns over. This place has some history behind it. We found an old carriage road in the woods and my buddy searched the road while I searched a stone foundation further into the woods. We met up about 45 minutes later. I asked him " how did ya make out?" Then he reaches in his pocket { I just KNEW he found something good } and pulls out a coin that is just slightly bigger than a half dollar and on it it says " GeorgeIVS / REX Brittannia. The date is defenetely 1700's. First two numbers are 17, the third number we cannot make out and the last # is a 9. We were pretty psyched. Then I began searching the road, got a good strong hit and I dig up an 1889 Indian head cent. Then 20 feet away another Indian head, 1890. We've never found coins this old so we're pretty excited! Will try and post pics next week when he sends them to me.
