Hello all,

Great site you have here. Very informative. I am new to metal detecting but have done well as a bottle hunter. Im looking to make the jump to search for the "good stuff". I have a Whites Prizm III that im trying to get the hang of. So far all ive found is junk. (I lent it to the kid next door and he found an old silver ring in minutes. My luck...) I hope to improve my luck by getting some tips from you folks and maybe finding a local fellow enthusiest who can help me out. Thanks in advance and a big "Hello" to all.

Have you tried notching, or turning your discrimination up on your detector? The more discrimination you use the less garbage you will find. Good Luck.
