From the pictures I agree with Matt R. Nice find!1!aa battery said:Found this while detecting an area where Indian camps were.It was next to a spent cartridge guessing from the calvary.The stone was buried about 7 inches, far from the river rock at the base of the mountain.Holes in near by rocks made me think it was an artifact.
