Guanella Pass

This month is my middle daughters birthday and one of the things we do together is take a little trip up in the hills to see the fall scenery. This time I said we'll go over Guanella pass and that'll take us up to timberline. We got going before sunup and went over it before the Sunday crowds arrive. We started on the west side and had breakfast in Georgetown and got home about noon. It was pretty chilly when we got there but, things really heated up in the afternoon to over 90 degrees. It was great little time together and I find it hard to believe she'll be turning 28 years old now. I have to ask myself, I'm I old or what

Some are orange, tan and brown. You don't see the orange in the one shot?

Yeah, you're old tr. Be like me and work at it, and you can be 'or what', haha! Haven't made it up to Guanella Pass this year, but I might check it out later on.

Go on a weekday. It started to get pretty crowded around 8:am up on top with hikers. That's why we left the house at 6 in the morning. My daughter just didn't have a weekday off anytime soon and I said get over to the house before sunup so we can enjoy a little of the experience. Indeed towards the end of next month should be a good time to head up there.
