Gun Parts, or something else???

My Son found these pieces today here at the house. the one piece looks like a pistol end cap and the longer piece, well the ring and the piece that looks like a thumb rest reminds me of a gun part but not the rest of it . I have looked some, but haven't come up with nothing yet, probably looking in the wrong direction. the longer piece is 6 inchs but broke and would have been longer. the piece on it that i thought resembled a thumb rest, there is 2 1/2 inchs between it and the ring.

What do you think there from?

I can't tell by the size but the long piece looks like the metal strip from a hames. Tony
