Detector(s) used
Presently using Deus 2's & have Minelabs, Nokta's Tesoro's DEus's Have them all . Have WAY to many need to get rid of some
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I think i got it around the first or middle of February. Because of winter I had not got to use it yet. Yesterday I was getting it ready get set for the detecting season. I charged the coil and started to put it back in my carrying case and the shaft came apart down by where it was connected together. As you can tell by the picture it is here it is joined to the coil mounting part. I contacted the dealer i got it from and he was going to check with Deus about it. I will report back when i hear from him.
The tape on the shaft indicates what deus it goes with. I have 3 deus 2's and each one had colored tape on it to identify which attachments goes with which controller. When my sones come down and visit. They each have the SAME equipment. SAVES a lot of fighting over what they can use lol.
Seperated shaft.webp

I never got to use it detecting. I am waiting for a reply from Deus. I will report what they say

Got me one of those same back scratchers.... :icon_thumright:

It will be interesting to see what they say. Good luck Gare getting this rectified. Hopefully it's not a widespread issue.

OK Deus has not got back with me yet. I called the dealer and told him I think i know what CAUSED IT.

On my Deus 2's i have three of there hard carry cases. Inside my cases i carry all the stuff for that detector. If you noticed the two strips of yellow tape on that shaft . That coil and shaft were for a controller that has two strips of yellow tape on it. All coils and equipment for my detectors have different colors of tape on them. If you need to change something you just match the tape with the rest of the parts that match. If your at a hunt and there are a lot of people there. Marking your equipment makes it a lot easier to find your equipment.
Back to how i think i broke my shaft. I had put everything including 3 coils and shafts in the hard case and closed it. I think the stress of the three coils and shafts made it give way. I called and told the dealer to mention this to Deus and warning people about putting two many coils in that hard case

I talked on the phone with a guy. He broke his last Thursday So all be extra careful with those shafts

That's good to know -- I also have a hard case, though I currently only have one coil/shaft in it.

As for the break, by all means get it replaced. But in the meantime, a couple of wooden dowels or a split PVC pipeand a bit of duct tape can work as a temporary splint and get you back on the hunt.

Some great tips RobertK thank you for your reply. As for using a piece of pvc pipe I have 2 other High Freq coils so i am not to concerned till the new shaft gets here. plus i have many more deus 1 coils and shafts
