Hey everyone, well, I got 6 boxes yesterday and 2 were pretty good! So I had 3 that were skunks, 1 that gave up a 40 and the other 2 gave up 26 40's and 7 90's, one box had 4 enders in it the other had none, the one with no enders gave up 4 of the 90's and 5 of the 40's, one of the 90's is a proof I believe, you guys can tell me if I'm wrong, looks like it to me though, has a mirror background. Did I take enough pics for you guys? Good luck to everyone hunting today! HH, Maverick.

Nice boxes, man! Thanks for letting us live it vicariously through you with the pix. :)

Thanks, lol, no problem, I'm glad you appreciate it, it is kinda a pain taking all the photos, but I know they put more intertainment into the find. When I saw the enders, I figured I better get the camera out. HH, Maverick.

Thanks for the show, much better than the 1 90%, 4 40%, and 2 proofs i got this week in my 4k. Thanks for letting me see that somebody is doing well =)

I get 4k every Tuesday, I can't tell you how many times I have finshed up those 8 boxes and found nothing, it allways comes back around, it just seems it's definetly not coming back around as fast anymore, thats why I don't post finds much anymore, they just haven't really been there, about every 15 boxes 1 gives my something, has been about the average here lately. HH, Maverick.

I have had more fun recently at my bank with just talking to the people about coins and such. One of my banks are super nice, 2nd time in the bank i was introduced to the President and VP, they used to work in the coin room years ago together. Told him i like finding the silver coins, rare coins and really interested in error coins. The VP saved coins years ago also. He handed me a bank bag full of silver coins and said here, look through these if you like and bring them back whenever lol. It caught me offguard, he had a solid roll of uncirculated 1964 Bens, 2 rolls of uncirculated 1964 Franklins, and tons of melt value dimes, quarters, even some walkers, morgans, standing liberty quarters, barbers, etc.... As a thanks i returned his coins and gave him 2 arrowheads (a 3" Gary and 2" Grand Hopewell) for his kids. He was shocked and said remind him and he has a bunch of error coins in his safety deposit box he wants to give me that he has no use for they have just been sitting there for years. More than one way to score some finds i guess =)

Fantastic finds! That proof is very nice! Glad we are back in the silver these days! Here is to rivers of luck and silver in the future!

I found this little beauty a while back, only other pre 65 proof I have ever found. HH, Maverick.

I'm going to have to get mine out again and look closer. From my notes it was 2 Ben proofs, a '62 & a '63, and there were some Walkers mixed in. They were also 2 weeks before getting my 5 commemoratives, which were definitely part of a collection dump. Just not sure if they were part of the same one, as there were many skunk boxes between the two finds. This hobby is like a box of Cracker Jacks, you never know what the prize will be. :)

Wow. Great boxes!!!!!!!

Beautiful! Great finds, and pics!

An accented hair proof is worth $32.

I'm not 100% convinced that is the accented type. Yours looks a lot like mine and mine is just the standard proof '64.

I could be wrong, though. The "I" in LIBERTY isn't missing the left-bottom part of the letter like the accented variety.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of them from a graded one on eBay that is an accented:

And the one that I have:

I'm not trying to downplay your find, Mav (you know I'm not) because I'd be stoked if I found one of those in a box! :)

Nice going either way!

Who knows? It could just be the lighting on it.

Hey Boris, ya, I noticed it looked like that too, but, on the back ( which I should have put a pick up of) the lines are definetly broken with the stars, that was what made me think it was the accented version, so I'm not sure now myself, but the lines on the back look exactly like the ones in your pic. Either way, it's definetly going into a 2x2 for the special coin box, lol. HH, Maverick.

Well, I was reading online about the accented and came across this bit of info (forgot to include it with my last post):

Something important to note about the reverse diagnostics is that they are not 100% reliable in determining the variety and should not be used as a stand-alone assessment tool. This is because reverse die #1 was also paired with obverse die #2. These are known as the "transitional variety" and, while rather uncommon, they do exist. Matter of fact, I came across one while shooting the pictures for this page.

I don't have a loupe or magnifying glass to look at the reverse of mine, but this article The Accented Hair Kennedy Half Dollar says that they exist, but I don't think they have any added value.

I'd be stoked to find one of those; and I would put it in an airtight myself! :)

Huh, so if mine is the Transitional variety, is it worth more then, or rarer I take it? Maverick.

From what I read on that page, it's not worth any more than the standard proof, but I'm not 100% on that. I will have to research that more (unless someone else can come in here and tell us about it).

Thanks for all the info Boris, I'll take some time and look up some info on those:). HH, Maverick.
