1950s or 60s Aluminium Toy tractor. Wish it was in better shape. First 2 minutes while shaking off the dirt Iwas trying to understand " what kind of old vehicle part it is " Then i saw the seat of the tractor.
Chicago far suburbs

Forgot to add, its about 7 or 8 inches long

Not sure how old your tractor is, but I'd say probably mid 1970s to mid 1980s. If anyone knows for sure, hopefully they'll chime in. It's a John Deere A model 'high post' as seen on this farm toy auction site

Yes i was also thinking that it could be from the 70s. But the place seemed quite old, so I thought maybe older.

John Deere Model "A" High Post toy tractor
While the real-life "styled" John Deere Model A was introduced in 1939, this specific toy version dates to the mid-to-late 1940s.
  • Open Flywheel: Early versions of this toy, like yours, often featured the "open flywheel" design on the side, mimicking the real 1940s tractors.
  • Scale: This model is typically 1/16 scale, making it about 8 inches long.

Looks like you've got a great restoration project! Well worth the time if your able to able to locate the parts.
Well the toy's more Rear section seems is mostly iron, or mainly Iron alloy. It looks quite corroded to me. But the front indeed is Aluminium zinc or similar alloy.
I just have never restored anything like that

just google parts for this make of tractor on either Ebay or one of the collector forums there's always parts for sale.
Probably fully restored it would be under $75 though it would be worth 3X that amount.
