I took a chance on this one. It's a silver long thin dish with five stamps on it. I thought I could see a crown and the way the stamps were I gambled on it. I cannot find the marks and am a bit overwhelmed when I search. The last stamp is longer and just a blur to me. I see a sideways "S", an M or W, a crown a sideways B? And the mystery mark on the end. Any idea what I have? It was $4.99 at a Savers thrift store. Thanks all!! Another clearer photo. I don't think it's a crown, looks like a face or a jester??ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1444092478.453203.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1444092490.703038.webp

And this mark (scratched in) was under the sticker on the back. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1444092547.169473.webp

Thanks again for any help or direction on this!!

Thanks, that's where I searched some. I like that site! I'll have to do more obviously but I was hoping someone would have an idea of country or other starting point.

Hope I'm wrong but it has that rainbow color patina. I've only seen that on plated items.
Did you test it?

Great find!! I would still test it as I've seen sterling and lesser purity of silver turn all sorts of colors. It's definitely not English.

Well, I dug out the solutions. The 18k acid ate it up almost instantly and the sterling solution took a few seconds but ate it up as well. BUMMER! Wonder what kind of metal it is? ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1444182676.499164.webp

They look like plate marks to me. Sorry it was not silver.
