Hamburg BBQ's

The longer this cooks, the better it gets (as long as you don't burn or scorch it)

1 pound of Hamburg
1/4 cup Onion, chopped
1/4 cup Green Bell Pepper, chopped
1/4 cup Red Bell Pepper, chopped (can use yellow/orange if you prefer) or use a little bit from each of them
1/2 to 1 cup water
2 tablespoons Vinegar
2 tablespoons Prepared Mustard (any kind of mustard will do)
2 tablespoons of white Sugar
1/4 cup of Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Ketchup
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

Brown hamburg with onion and peppers. Drain off some of the grease if there is a lot of it but not all. You'll want some of the grease as it helps hold he flavor and keeps things from sticking to the pot. Add other ingredients and cook about 15 minutes on high. Turn down the heat and simmer for a few hours. The longer it cooks, the better it is. All ingredients can be adjusted to your own liking and recipe can be doubled.

I fry the hamburg, onions and peppers on the stove and let simmer 15 minutes and then put it all into my slow cooker (6 quart Nesco) and let it cook on low for 2 to 3 hours or so.

Once in awhile, i'll cook it on the stove the whole time in a heavy pot. I do everything in one pot from beginning to end.
