Hammer time period? Looks hand forged, hoping reused in 1950's

I found this at a stage coach location in Westminster Colorado. It looks like it was hand forged but I don't like the two different diameter nail heads. I am hoping it was reused in the 1950's like I was gonna do with it.
What do you guys think?
