Hammered Coins

I've been getting really into the idea of somehow finding hammered coins in the US. Is this realistic at all? They just interest me far more than anything else at the moment...

Always a possibility but your chances increase the closer to New England States you live. Lots have been found in the U.S. Never think it can't happen.

It has happened before. I can think of a few people who have found them from the top of my head, BILL D. (va), HomeGuardDan, Oxbowbarefoot, and BB-in-Maine. All in very early settled areas when English Hammered silver coins were in use. Areas that were settled in the 1600s are your best bet, if you're looking for them! HH

Oh yeah, it's definitely possible! The CT river area was settled in the 1600s!

You'll have to do some research and find the oldest settlements in the state....it was considered part of New France during the late 1600 hundred so yeah you might have a chance.
