🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Hand forged round buckle?

kept this from unproductive hunt on Friday. Looks like it could be part of a buckle. It's tapered on one side a bit . Was going to clean it more if it was if not anything probably trash itn

Judging by the exposed metal, I'm not sure if it's a buckle. It almost looks like zinc. Is it soft? I'm thinking maybe a large compression washer or metallic gasket?

Some parts were coming off faster. It's rust, iron object

It's very hard. I had scraped some of the thick rust and soaked it in hot vinegar
