I very, very seldom get out in the summer due to the ferns being 2 1/2 ft tall and difficult to walk through. I know of an old house site that is surrounded by evergreen trees with absolutely no undergrowth. I detected there a few days ago and found iron with the most interesting being these hinges. After 2 days in the electrolysis bucket, they cleaned up very well.

Those turned out nice. I like to collect old hand wrought iron stuff myself.

Nice job of cleaning. Love the look of cleaned iron, HH

More goodies for your collection! :icon_thumright: I have so much that needs to be cleaned up. A chore that I'm not fond of. :P :D

Nana :hello:

Gosh Nana, cleaning is the fun part, watching all that old rust coming off to see what is beneath after being buried for over 100 years. To me, it's a relaxing evening doing the dirty work on rusty iron. Ya gotta get busy real soon.
