That would be a pretty big case to also put the delux soft case in as well. I would take some measurements and look at some deep double rifle cases that might work (not with the soft case).

It doesn't have to fit the soft case I'm just thinking for extra protection. I keep hearing horror stories about airlines crushing detectors. What cases do you use. I'm sure someone here has a hardcase

How about a hard case for golf clubs? My golfing buddies won't fly their clubs without one and they lock.

Buy a large, firm hard plastic suitcase, tear down your machine into 3 (Electronics + 2 rods) pieces. and put the pieces in the suitcase, corner to corner. Then fill in the spaces with socks, T shirts, towels, shorts et. The coil can be wrapped up in a towel. I have been doing this for many years on flights with absolutely no problems.

And used suitcases are cheap cheap cheap!

Thank you all. Those are great ideas

When I travel, I put my detector into a Samsonite hard shell carry-on case. I have lined it with foam that keeps everything from rattling around. Works great.

Was looking in a pawn shop yesterday and saw a hard case for a large bow. Looked like it might work, worth looking into

I just ordered a double bow case from amazon. Should be here tomorrow sometime

If the Amazon case doesn't work (and you decide to return it to Amazon) - I searched

and found a few - here is just one...

The case I purchased was the SKB double bow case. Works great and holds all my gear as well. A little heavy and bulky but still light enough not to incure extra baggage fees on flights... now to get a starter pistol to protect it from TSA agents
