Found at cellar hole spot in a bank where trash pit is in the ashy ground. It's about the right size for one . Didn't know if it was a machinery part or had straps weaved through it

That's it. I knew I had seen something like that but couldn't place it. Definitely part of a door lock.

Well it's possible seems others think it points more to door lock or knob component

Well...I have found a few military items there as I do most of these homesites, seems all the men in the family were enlisted
