Harness iron

What a drought. This year has been:
Fence wire, nails, tin, can slaw and harness iron. No coins, toys, keys, tokens, etc.
Today: a lot of modern nails, wire, 1 square nail and this harness ring (2.5” outside diameter).

The U-bolt on this is different than most I’ve found, but no big deal.

I won’t know how to act if I eventually find a coin. 😁 But it was great getting out there and hunting. I’m grateful for days like this too. 👍🏼

Yeah I get it . I haven't had a ton of stellar finds lately . I also have had some setbacks with getting sick and family time not being able to hit some good spots yet

Sometimes I catch myself wanting to blame my detector. But it can’t find what’s not there. 😃

Man, I feel that. Some days it's just nails, pull tabs, and rusty junk - then one day you hit something good and it all makes sense again

Same thing here. Late 1800s and I think the farmers here bartered everything. Coins are almost non existent. I have a new permission. Farm house on 1875 plat. Gone by 1920. The owner is 80 and grew up on that farm and says as far as he knows no one has detected it. An Indian head penny would be nice. A silver would be a dream find!

My wife asked why I was so obsessed with finding coins. She said you can afford any coin you want. Just go to eBay and buy them. I said it’s not the same! You don’t get it! It’s treasure I have to bring in from the wild!😉

I totally agree with you on this in most cases BUT in gold mining /dredging its a lot cheaper to just buy your gold instead of digging , dredging it yourself! BUT there again its the enjoyment you get in being the first one to find this in LLLOOOONNNNGGGG time. I guess I'm just getting to old for my britches now-a-days !
