As about 9 inches deep on an old beach, from what I can read it says TRI-ANS on one side
And on other it said London England , and I think Bros ltd ? Could it be a part if an old key?

Sent from my iPhone using TreasureNet

Looks like an old clock winding key. The open end should be square inside to fit the winding stem, which was usually on the the clock face.
