I am not sure what ya mean Cappy. I have met two people (in 30 years and knowing hundreds of pot smokers) that have an allergy to Canibis. It is not common as I see it, but quite possible.

I'm not going to get "sucked" into a pot pissing contest again, You do what you want to, I could care less. I've seen too many mamas sucking on a pipe or a doobie while their kids were running loose dirty and hungry, and some fine speciman of a man was hollering from the bedroom. I don't smoke pot, I don't hang around with folks who do and I don't lie. I'm also allergic to cats, feathers, mold spores and several other species of the flora around the country. I can't see how being allergic to pot is any different then someone being allergic to strawberries, peanuts, shellfish or whatever. The only thing I have ever been allergic to is penicillen (thank God I have never caught anything to need it for). On the other hand I have never had poison ivy, oak, sumac or anything like that and I have been exposed numerous times. Everybody is different.

Awww Monty, I don't think anyone wants to argue the point. I think we all know that sometimes the circle of people who deal with illegal drugs can be an sorry example of society. Not all the time, but a lot of it. Like Cappy implied, to be able to have the "dope sniffer" cop come over and catch you would be like a comedy routine. I mean tapping someone on the shoulder and saying" Excuse me, but I believe that is a Hash odor on you that is causing my sneeze, and by the way is that Cool Water you are wearing? Come with me, your going to be booked." Heck, I would pay to see that!

Pot is used in its natural form typically (when I did smoke it, I grew my own as I was paranoid about someone "slipping me something". ) Cocaine is a chemically altered reduction of the active chemical in the coca plant. Coca leaves themselves are no more powerful than drinking a cup of coffee. Heroin is chemically treated and altered sap from the opium poppy. Opium is addictive in and of itself, but tends to be far less harmful than heroin, which is typically cut with all sorts of noxious chemicals before it hits the street.

Pot should not be in the same class as other drugs, since it does not cause physiological addiction, and has fewer withdrawal symptoms than nicotine, which is perfectly legal. As far as being allergic? I have known a few people allergic to it as well. I know first hand how many things people can be allergic to...allergy panels can test for hundreds of irritants, from pet dander to tree nuts to chicken and pork.

Actually, I have not touched pot since I joined the Army in 1996. Not that I wont consider it once I get out of the Army once and for all...but then again, probably not. Nothing is sadder than a guy in his late thirties eating FunYuns and giggling at cartoons. Although, Pink Floyd is better if you are slightly baked.

Look, I am not looking to argue, and I do not want this to leave the subject on which it was started, but the statement that pot is not a drug is fallacious and untrue. By that thought Cocaine is a herb. It does come from the Coca plant. Also therefore Heroin is a herb also since it comes from the Opium poppy plant. No, I am sorry, but is a drug unless you consider these others to be Herbal Essence also. Take it easy y'all.

There is a big difference between pot and cocaine, or heroin, Pot is 100% natural, it does not have to be processed, (can be smoked straight from the plant) and is not concentrated, cocaine and opium both have to be processed with other chemicals to get the final product, and the final product is in a highly concentrated form. You can not overdose on pot, you can on cocaine or heroin.

Comparing pot to cocaine or heroin is less then comparing 3.2% beer to high grade White Lighting (Moon shine).

I am father of 2 full grown kids, if I had to chose a vice they picked up I would choose pot over drinking or smoking.

Interestingly enough, I did today. It was a "smokless pipe" that still had some unsmoked "residue". Looked like it had been there for some time.

I was in Jackson Hole on a chairlift and the guy I was on the chair with jumped off from about 20 feet up (while moving of course) because he spotted a bag of weed on the snow below the chairlift...crazy dude.

Boy Monty you got jumped on! I was a cop too and did the undercover thing. We didn't go for the casual users but tried to nail the big time dealers. Marijuana, coke, PCP, whatever. I had some friends killed in drug raids and had some friends who killed people in drug raids. We have a lot of legal medical marijuana dispensaries goin on here in Colorado now, so sometimes I have to wonder what in the world they had us fightin it for. Those guys got killed and killed people under the laws that were in place at the time. Maybe the government could have done better, but just like you it was my job to enforce the laws that were in place at the time. (Remember the liquor law changes in Oklahoma) The most important thing I have learned here, is that Monty went to a KISS concert!! Well I never. Well, cannabis is addictive. So are cigarettes, 3.2 beer, lottery tickets, krispy kreme donuts, and starbucks coffee. It doesn't necessarily means it leads on to a more serious drug. But it probably will, because the same dude that sells you a bag of grass can also hook you up with something way more potent. And you will try it. At least once. Personally, I would encourage everyone to smoke dope. That way you will sit around the house while I get out and detect some pretty cool sites, with little or no competition. I'll post my finds, so y'all can go 'Wow, wayyy coool'.
