Heart Found

[Bridge End Farm]

Got a lead on a possible spot to hunt real close to an area I had been already hunting. Since after the storms passed and tornadoes cruising by last night I decided to take a search for it.

After tromping and wading through briers, swamp, creeks, and just ending up with some wet shoes, socks and trousers I decided to back track and climb a hillside and look around. The only area that reflected what I was looking for I had already hunted previously.

I climbed back down and started swing on it anyway. I got 2 hits one was a 22 bullet casing and this old heart compact. At least I think that is what it is.
The compact was only a little bit in the ground and gave me a silver indication. Wasn't anything inside but dirt. I thought I had covered the area previous before quite well but guess not.

I made another discovery in that the water is still quite cold here in florida also. lol

Glad your getting out and making some finds. The heart is cool, I agree with stevesno it would look great in a display case. I hope I get to feeling better I've been trapped in the house with flu symptoms for the past 2 days. BORED TO TEARS my detectin arm is knotting up not getting to swing one for two days. Maybe tommorrow I'll feel better and be able to get out.

I haven't cleaned it yet so I am unsure, I just rinsed it in the water I was next to. I don't know about more but was surprized to find it as I had been over the area before. It isn't a big area about 10 foot across wide path maybe 75 feet long. I am going back tomorrow to look for the spot I am looking for. It should be in the 30s here tomorrow so the gators and snakes should be stiff. Lot of old swamp etc where I am looking and last thing I want is a 14 footer that has been hiber and me getting close. I will be ready for the H20 this time. I didn't realize it was so wet and was unprepared but went anyway.

Nice dig , What size is is it? Looks like there was something attached to it in the top center.

it is roughly 3 inches both ways across centers. I looked at it again I don't think it did other than the spot coming from mother earth. I'm gonna clean it better and see if it has any markings. The insides had I believe a seal on both parts along edge..
