Heater?

Found this at my favorite place to shop.
Looks like some kind of heater. Has vents on sides and a cover. Inside is a hollow ring with a hole in the center. There is a grate in the bottom. Looks like Oriental writing on sides. Any guesses?

I think you might be right on the Incense burner or smoker. I bought it because it was different looking and I thought my small Christmas tree might fit in the pipe part. That would be cool looking don't you think?

NOW LOOKING AT THE INSIDE, NO SMOKE RESEDUE, LOOKS MORE LIKE WATER RING DEPOSITS, "STEAM GENERATOR" FOR A STEAM BATH?, BUT FUMES FROM THE FUEL IF IT WERE, WOULD STAY IN ROOM CAUSING APHIXIATION-- DONNO!

That's what it is alright!
I would have to clean it up really good to use it!
Could also be used for hot cider? Ooooooooooo the many uses!
