Heavy Metal Holder - 1882

It weighs almost 5 pounds . I was thinking that it might be a flag pole holder , but the adjustable teeth part swivels 360 degrees w/ the big wing-nut . It looks like it inserted into another part where the six-sided hex thing is . The insert holes are 1 1/4 inches . Pat . June 6 , 1882 . # 7 Thanks !

Kind of looks like a fruit corer.
put the one leg in hole in counter.

Possible. Don't know for sure.
