Heavy object needs id

[carleeclub]

I found this buried under a large, old tree root.
The tree has obviously grown over this item.
It was a job to dig out!
It hasn't been cleaned very well yet, but I thought maybe someone had an idea as to its identity.
I've asked several friends and they have no idea.
It is heavy and measures approx. 22 inches long.
Thank you in advance!

It kinda looks like a kickstand to a bicycle to me? Be interesting to see what it looks like cleaned up. Good luck Artie

I believe what you have there is a tie rod to an older automobile.

Thanks guys!
I will try to clean it more and see what that uncovers.
To be continued......
