Past few days I've been digging back in NJ with Scrappy. After my 10 day road trip to FL with EastCoastHunter that did not produce Spanish treasure, I've been flipping some good soil. Few days ago we went to one of my pounded parks and I pulled a 1864 2 center.

Today Steve invited me to his spot and as soon as I placed my cool on the ground this beauty came out:

About 2 inches down! A 1743 1/2 reale (Mexico city mint)! My jaw dropped and I hugged it out with Scrappy. This is my first Spanish silver and according to Steve it's just about as early as the area dates back to!

Great minutes later, a chippy signal mixed in with iron showed up as a 1810 LC

What a day! Few other finds included an intact shoe buckle

And a vintage cabinet key

What a great way to start February! Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting!

Great stuff... I am enjoying the detail on the 1/2 reale, and that intact buckle is cool as heck!

Congratualtions on the very productive hunt! The reale and shoe buckle are very cool. The 2-cent piece has some nice detail! :occasion14:

Nice finds. Honestly, id take that buckle over the reale. Ive got Spanish but no intact buckles

NOW YOU ARE TEARING IT UP. Great hunts there with the 1743 half reale.

That's awesome treasure

That spanish is killer but the shoe buckle is a beauty as well. What did Scraps find?......silence lol

Nice digs Bart. You certainly stomped me yesterday but I couldn't be happier you found that beauty Spanish silver. It's earlier than what I've pulled out of there by about 60 years so it puts a whole new perspective on the site. The site itself is a Class 1 iron patch so it'll be a while before I go back there! But that said you were dialed in yesterday. Congrats

It was a rough one brother. 5 flat buttons, a silver chain, and some Indians.

Congrats on a killer find. Scrappy sent me a pic of it yesterday, beautiful coin.

Nice buckle too!

Very well done.

Man you had a heck of a hunt. Great saves. That Deus is a great machine in the right hands. Keep digging.

Neat! That's a double globe 1/2 real, the globe on the left represents the new world and the one on the right is the old world. The Spanish Empire controlled more territory than any other nation in the whole world back when that coin was in circulation. Just think of all the historical figures that could have once owned that.

Congrats on your first Spanish Silver. It looks to be in great shape also.
