Hi Peter, welcome from the Binghamton area.

Careful, we might build something upon him.
Or get him behind us? :whip2:

Cephas/Peter in Opposition

Gal. 2:11

"11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood self-condemned; 12 for until certain people came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But after they came, he drew back and kept himself separate for fear of the circumcision faction."

Mark 8:33

"33 But turning and looking at his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things."'

He was a volatile fellow, but a champion in the end.

How can you deny someone multiple times after seeing them perform many amazing feats?

A fear of death is natural - self-protection is strong. Cephas had not received the gift from above, that was not until Pentecost.

Notice how the disciples acted so oblivious? Like for example Jesus multiplies food, and when the same situation happens again they ask Jesus what should they do (as if the previous incident never happened). They are acting just like the Israelites in Exodus being oblivious to Yahweh's miracles. Is this how real people act?

Anway back to thoughts on treasure hunting.
