Hello from Alabama! (Aspiring Precious Metal Collector)

Hey everyone! I just joined this forum in an effort to further educate myself on precious metal stacking, collecting, and prospecting. I am originally from South Korea but have lived in Texas, Utah, Maryland, and currently Alabama. I am only 13 years of age so I am very inexperienced in life in general xD. A little history of myself is that I avidly collect fossils. I have many fossils from crinoids to cyanobacteria. I am also a keeper of budgies, hedgehogs, and many invertebrates. I am a complete noob to the areas of precious metals, so any help is appreciated. I have researched for many days before finally taking the jump. Welcome. Here's a start. Pick up rolls of half dollars at banks and look for silver. You can occasionally find silver war "Jefferson" nickels in nickel rolls and an occasional silver dime in dime rolls. Sometime the reject slots of "Coinstar" machines will spit out silver also.

Since you are in Alabama, seriously consider a trip to Dahlonega, Georgia. There was a HUGE gold strike there before the Civil War. There are museums and places to pan for gold - for a fee of course, but it's a lot of fun.
