My guess is: It is illegal to export artifacts from Sri Lanka; and this is enforced by SUPDTA (the Special Unit of Prevention of Destruction of Theft of Antiquities) or some similar department.
What is the current law regarding exporting ancient coins and other artifacts from Sri Lanka?
