Hello from Venice Beach

Hi all,

I wish there was more history in my home town so I can dig some relics...but Venice beach is good for coins and rings..."Love the one your with" I guess.

I'm a bit of a newbie to metal detecting as well as to the beach. If anybody has some tips for beach hunting let me know.

Welcome! If you plan on serious beach hunting in SoCal. get a good salt water machine, put in the time, and dig every sound until you get used to what the machine it telling you.

If you haven't purchased a detector be sure to do a little research, read the sticky thread in this forum about the different types and google YouTube videos to watch people using detectors you are interested in. It all comes down to what and where you plan to hunt. With the beach salt, make sure you get one with a ground balance? Happy digging!
