Hello! I'm looking for an ID on a rock

I found this interesting rock today and thought it was amber until I cleaned it up. Any ideas? I'm stumped!

What state was it found in? I'm kinda thinking flint/chert or some other sort of quartz type of stone.

Looks like a chalcedony (microcrystaline) quartz nodule, with some of the matrix it formed in still attached.

I'm actually in Alberta Canada. I work in an open pit mine where we make aggregate. Thanks for your help I'm going to look those up

While it may well be a quartz matrix, the first step to identifying any rock is a hardness test. Look up Mohs test and get all the details. If it can be scratched by a pocket knife then it is not quartz or flint/chert, but would most likely be a calcite extrusion. Gypsum can also look like that.

AshLentz, I believe you have a Pallasite Meteorite, Type Stony Iron. With some crystals of green or orange olivine.
