Hello today at work I found what I think is a point. I was hoping for some information about what this is. Thank you

I cannot tell from the photo if there is a fluted base or not.
Can you determine this and let us know if there is or is not a flute?
A flute or lack of a flute would be an indicator to the time period.
With a flure points to a paleo period, a lack of a flute points to a transitional paleo period.
It does appear to have a flute on one side, but it is hard to tell for sure by the pictures posted.

Very nice. It may be a Late Archaic Squibnocket Triangle. Ritchie’s NY typology is also valid for New England. In fact, the point type was based on Ritchie’s excavations on Squibnocket Pond, Martha’s Vineyard….

It’s one possibility, there are other Archaic era triangles, if you get into this seriously, you’ll want to buy the late Jeff Boudreau’s typology of New England points, available online from Ma. Archaeological Society….

Various forms of the Squibnocket Triangle, from Boudreau.
