How close was it?

Wow! We've been seeing more and more of those guys here in CT. There is one that's a regular in our neighborhood and has been known to pass through our yard...

There might be a few more around because of the fires, the critters around here are thirsty. I keep a fountain full for them. I saw a cub the other day, they sure are cute.

Same thing here. I think they know the schedule for trash pick-up and hit all the garbage cans placed curbside the night before. The huge influx of city dwellers to the rural suburbs keeps the bears well fed. I had one tell me that they couldn’t understand how the big a$$ bear got into the garbage can, as she had secured the lid with a BUNGEE CORD! :dontknow: Just mind-boggling.
Our area has also recently been inundated with missing pet posters, you know dogs and cats which the recent transplants brought with them from the city. I’m pretty sure that the vast majority wound up as coyote snacks.

I saw a bear couple months back along the San Miguel River close to Placerville Colorado.
