And more bears. Our first 'winter storm warning', but it was mostly on the higher peaks. Montezuma had a little dusting on the ground. Bears are still active. Had 4 show up the other day at 5 in the afternoon. They're pretty much like the town dogs now. The sow and cubs came off of Main Street and I can only imagine what a scene that was. Could've got a lot more better pics, but was tryin to keep neighbors from gettin too close, as the mama is bad tempered. Little better mood this time, just growled at me. Probably getting too fat to chase me. I managed to run them all off again and haven't seen them for a few days now.

Looks like you need some M80’s. Bears do not belong in town. We have seen what happens when people and bears start getting too comfortable. They have plenty of other places to be other than digging around in peoples trash cans.

Due to the extreme drought, they really don't have much of a food source out in the woods this year, so they come into town and try to raid the dumpsters. I feel sorry for them, but let them know they're not welcome here. Throwing rocks works pretty good, don't care to use the bear spray.

Well it’s a part of the natural balance. Less bears means more deer. Everything has to cruely fluctuate naturally. I’m sure you are well aware of that living where you do.

In Northern California, we have plenty of bears and few deer.

We had a teenage Mt. Lion feeding in town. It was eating people’s cats and dogs. They humanely relocated it 20 miles away. It came back and resumed eating pets in town. My thought was that they should kill it because it had gotten too comfortable around humans. What did they do? They relocated it 50 miles away where people sleep on the ground while back packing. Hmm…Maybe it will make parole soon. Go figure.
