Help Aging a Toy Car

Hi everyone,

Do any if you have any idea how old this is? It says TLO on the under side, and Chicago. I dug it this morning and am very curious about it. Thanks in advance for any and all help

Cool find, looks like a spot on the top you could attach a lego brick?

You might want to post on the "What is it" forum, I have a posted a couple of strange items there and have got some great answers.

Just a wild guess on my part, I would say late 50's to mid 60's for a date.

I think it says tlo, I'll clean it up more in the morning and double check. Its metal, made in Chicago. I think it might e made by Tootsietoy. Just my guess. They seem to be the only die cast car makers in Chicago I've seen similar to this.

Ok, after a bit of research, and some cleaning, I have made out that it is indeed a Tootsie Toy Metal car #12. I did a search on a popular auction website that seemed to have a few of them listed, in much better condition than mine. A really cool little car. I was surprised it was only about 2 inches deep. Another person I spoke with today from a local metal detecting club said it was probably a 1930's-40's era car. Yaay!
