Mexican reales coin from reign of Carlos IV 1788-1808. Diameter will determine the denomination.
1R=20mm; 2R=28MM;34mm=4R and 40mm=8R.
Don....[/QUOTe

I made a mistake on diameter. It is 25 mm,

On the necklace with the mystery coin there is 3 other coins , confirmed 1773,1784,1795 mexican silver reales,
The 1 and 2 reales coins measure as you specified,
The mystery coin does not

Mystery coin is on the left, 1795 2 reales is on the right, note the size difference, also the reverse image of the mystery coin doesnt match up with the spanish coins for carlos4

I will have to try and look on my laptop with WiFi. I'm still in the everglades. Its either a Mexico City or Lima Peru or Potosi Bolivia mint mark. It can't be both. They are all Spanish 1 or 2 reales. I don't know the mystery coin still unidentified.

All 3 are Spanish reales minted in Spanish colonies. There are mint marks on the reverse. Mackaydon can ID them. I can't see on my celphon.

Both of the 2 reale Spanish coins look like Lima Peru, not Mexico City mint but its hard to see. The Lima mint mark will look like this on this 8 Reale.:

lima mint.webp joe coins.webp

but i think you already determined this :laughing7:

Yea definitely not Mexican. The 2 Reale is from Lima Peru and the 1 Reale is from Potosi Bolivia. But you already knew that. :thumbsup:

Mackaydon is great with coins and if you can get him interested, he will ID your mystery coin. :icon_thumleft: He must have misunderstood something or Im missing something lol..

I dont have a mexico mint marc ,

I don't think the mystery coin is a Carlos IV Mexican or otherwise. Like you said, It doesn't match. Unless I'm missing something. And as you said, the diameter doesn't match a Carlos IV either.
