Ive spent hours staring at it and ive spent days searching all years and dates of colonial silver,
The side with the face i beleive has the hole punched on the head, looks like a napoleon or ferdinand,
Probably best would be using the side with the ? Eagle ?to compare to other worn coins.
I think the above photos is upside down,
All the identified spanish coins are punched near the head , i think this one is likewise.

Joe i think its punched at one o'clock position. Mack what coin is Mexican?

The mystery coin looks different from different angles. I'm not sure now about the nose. It should be IDable by the writing.

BCH,
When I made my "Mexico" comment in post #4, I assumed as such since the reverse had yet to be shown.
Once the reverses were shown, other than Mexico City mint marks became apparent--as you pointed out.
The "unknown" coin remains a challenge. A pointed crest appears on many country's coins: Cuba, Portugal, Colombia, etc.
I'll keep looking.
Don.....

BCH,
RE: Your #41 post: Yes, I see the same "LL", but no Central or South American country has two "Ls" in the spelling.
The two L's may be part of the person's name IF that outline is of a person.
Don..

I am 95% certain the first L of what looks like LL. Is infact E

If the first L is, in fact, an E, then there is a possibility the coin is from El Salvador; and looking at their currency, they have a coin where the wreath that surrounds the crest could appear as the wings of an eagle.
Another possibility assumes the L is an E could then make the second letter a "C"; as in Ecuador.
Don.........

Diameter is 25!!-27 mm! For the 1833-1836 2 real ecuador
Also silver finess is .66 !!! Lower than the spanish so that could be why it is more worn.
Coin alignment!!

Somebody could search silver colonial coins from the late 1700s/early 1800s. Try Spanish, French, Porteguese, Dutch and all the Carribean/ South American colonies. I drew a line where i think is the bottom of the coin. I think its a profile of a face thats looking left and i drew an arrow pointing to the nose. It almost looks Haitian but i checked.
