help dating old Chinese or japan coin

please help me ID this coin it was found in the back of a clock at my nana's i tried searching the coin and couldn't find anything on it please help

Try Google and look for some pdf files that are available. Some of the real experts share their knowledge. For starters: verify the metal, and measure the exact size. If it was found in a clock it's probably genuine, but these are faked by the millions in China. Welcome to a long and interesting journey........good luck..............h

The coin image on the left, the reverse side of the coin, indicates the mint was the Board of Revenue, Beijing.

Based on the bumps on the coin and shape of the characters this is a modern replica of the type Mackaydon posted. Sorry.
