Help dating this old house site foundation...will be hunting soon

Have permission to hunt this site in Virginia. Any experts put there that can date tbis? Hoping it's pre civil war. Very massive structure.

Does the person you got permission from know? If you let to many know where its at you will not be alone....

Being that size.... almost guaranteed it's been detected once or 100 times. Good luck though! Your finds should determine the age.

There are ways to pinpoint the age old buildings such as the type of bricks it was built with and the techniques used to construct it. Or simply ask the locals what they know. My guess is, it was put up in the last quarter of the 19 century.
