for your opinions on whaddup with this coin--
the rim is intact, no evidence of blunt force trauma, no evidence of being abraded --- copper plating not penetrated, far too much missing to be a greaser---- could it be--- (OH, NO!!!!--- not another Rick, Marty, and the team scam theory:BangHead::BangHead:)

can't we all just get along......... and agree ----yes, could it be: a Capped Die Strike:dontknow:???:happysmiley:

still the coin is kinda beat up. and yes it is a zincin lincoln. better luck next time. you asked.

I thought it was a trick title to the thread, but I see 197... something. Don't see a fourth digit.

I tend to think it's a capped die.

Not a Capped Die Strike because the Reverse is also weak. It is quite possible it is a Die Adjustment Strike or Die Test Strike.

Weak Strikes

It can be whatever you want it to be it does look like a strike issue going on

I need to read more. On odd coins I send them to be graded if they look good enough. It doesn't happen very often.

Another interesting coin..................great Cat...........................h

interesting.
And what was the weight and diameter again?

I personally think it was struck through an extremely thick layer of grease and metal. The substance was forgiving enough to keep from having a strong strike on the reverse.
