Found in Eastern US on the beach. Can anyone help ID this button? It's 22 mm wide.

Thanks :) Here it is a bit more cleaned up after a touch of electrolysis. I don't know anything about those buttons, how old are they? what were they used for? are they of importance?March 8 17 Button 4.webp
