I bought some dug coins from an individual and this was one of the ones I struggled to identify. if anyone has any insight, i will greatly appreciate it. The coins were said to be found in England and France. I added a pict IMAG2109.webpIMAG2110.webpIMAG2111.webpIMAG2108.webpure of the revolutionary war bayonet fragment that I dug last week too.

Well you can rule out British.

Its seems too thick for a coin & not quite right for a bullion or coin weight. Strange:icon_scratch:

My first thought is maybe a coin from the India area - Princely States Paisa of some variety? They are thick like that. But I haven't been able to find one close enough. I'm not sure if those are counterstamps or if it is a coin overstruck on another coin or if that is just the way it is.

I found this ----

Cmk'd huge Maratha paisa, Bhaunagar/Cambay, 1700's (06/12/2010)

and this looks somewhat like the design on one side.. but I don't know that it is the same:

India crossed my mind as well, even then its a very thick one, but it is the most likely track to go down.

I like the idea it may be an Indian Princely State 1 'Paises'; especially if it weighs c. 21g, has a diameter of c.18 mm and is c.5 mm thick; as this reference coin is: 1 Paisa - Indian princely states - Numista
Don.....
