I've found lots of silver and gold, and lots and lots of various GP, SP, brass and other junk rings, but never platinum ring as yet. Not saying this is platinum, just saying...
I found it along the lake shore and it rang up a little lower than what a 925 ring of this size typically comes in at. I've had small thin 925 rings come in at the same target ID as this one. Here are some facts:

I found it along the lake shore and it rang up a little lower than what a 925 ring of this size typically comes in at. I've had small thin 925 rings come in at the same target ID as this one. Here are some facts:
- When it came out of the wet mud I immediately thought it was silver because it was blackened like silver usually is when I recover from a wet environment like that. (Sorry I don't have a before picture)
- It weighs 7.42 grams, which doesn't tell me much. But, in my experience, I think it should be a little heavier for its size if it's silver, but I could be wrong.
- It had a lot of tarnish/hardened crud on it, so I ran it through an electrolysis bath for about 45 seconds and when I cleaned it with baking soda, it came out much better, but it still didn't look like the typical silver rings I've found. And I've found some oldies that always shine up nice. The first picture is after the cleaning.
- The only discernible markings on the inside that I can find are a series of parallel lines (pictured), which may not be anything really. What is odd is that this ring has a seam around the middle inside and is striated on the inner band. Every ring I have found, whether junk or not, has always been smooth on the inside. This one isn't and the only "markings" are the lines; other than some minor blemishes.
- Acid Test: 22k and 14k acid melted the shavings, 10k did not. Platinum did not melt the shavings. Silver, was inconclusive. I couldn't tell a color change or not.
