I found this button at a home in Central/Southern Indiana. At first I didn't know what I had but after cleaning it still has the shank. Unfortunately I can't make out the letter on the back very well.

The house has been there since the 1880's or possbily earlier. I found a patent name plate from 1895 and a mercury dime from 1927. I'm thinking this may be circa WW1 era but unsure?

Just an update on this I can make out now Superior Quality on the back. The front appears to be IDC or IOC or even possibly I&C which leaves me along the path of a railway button?
