The mister found this object at an old school that closed down in the late forties I think. It looks to be a heavy metal,sort of rusty in some places,about the size of a light switch cover and has a sort of "cog" like thing under the right little panel.Didnt
mean to post this sideways,sorry.

Thanks Cannonball Guy,we were thinking along the same lines.Hopefully going back to the same area soon where we at least found a toasted Wheatie before but got too dark to hunt.

I agree with the clock guts.
I got to hunt an old house that was taken out once,
and the person was a watch and clock repair person.
Those things were every where, frames gears it was crazy.
Every piece gave a good signal..
