I found this the other day with the same batch in my last post ,it got left out somehow. It looks different from other bifurcate points i have found, it i 0919171824.webp0919171825.webp0919171821c.webps more long and narrow and the shoulders dont come out much. I would appreciate anyones opinion on it, thanks.

amazing color on that piece, I wish i could help with type, but i know nothing about your area other than it is rich in native American history.

Why are you the mud man?

Thanks anyway quito that cracked me up thst you asked that i dont know why, but im a drywall finisher i have been for going on 30 years so i guess i can call myself a mudman.

I don't know about the type, but kinda look likes it was broke and re-worked for use as a scraper.

Hey mudman sweet point

I like that. You ought to know your stuff then after that long at it. Daddy always said that you never finish sheetrock, you just quit. He wasn't a drywall man, but a general contractor. I did just enough that I'd rather take a beating than do it.

Mudman is this one similar? I found it in southern Missouri & ive never been able to get a consistent ID on it

It looks a lot like some of the examples they showed grim but those were from a different region, but i thought it looked like a fish when turned sideways also.m9000 your point is very similar but is really more well made and of nicer material i think. Thanks for all the comments

Points traveled on long hunts. I have a Holland I found here in southern Ohio and that type isn't found close to my area. I found it within a half mile of the Ohio River so it could have easily came north along the river. Yours could have traveled in as well. Just my thoughts. Great point regardless.

Mudman I laid yours over top of mine in a little photoshop app on my iPhone (it's called Juxtaposer, it's real easy to use).

I can't help but to think we have a match. Yours looks like it's tumbled in the creek a bit more than mine & the tip is a bit more rounded, but I still think i see similar flaking patterns & similar sizing. You're a few hundred miles away from me but only 2 or 3 rivers away via Native American hunting & trade routes.

There's a guy on here named Neanderthal who runs the Native American museum in my home town. I haven't seen him post in a long time but if he's still around, I bet he can give us some insight. I'll see if I can PM him & have him weigh in.
