Help Identify

[TheJake]

Found this during excavation near the barn/old foundation. Any idea what it might be? It is hand forged. House dates from the 1790's

Welcome aboard my friend. Wish I could help, but no way to really scale. Will help you bit time to include ruler or put something in the pic to give size. Really helps to post front and back etc. Read the "stickies". We have some awesome folks here that will amaze you on how they can ID your finds if given enough to go on. Also there is a special forum "What is it" that many of us visit to get ID's. Sure hope you get an ID and hoping to see more finds in the future.

I'd hate to guess, but that is some very serious old spring work on the side. Can't wait to see what it turns out to be. I'm thinking piano for some reason.
