Just gonna bump this thread before it gets lost in the cracks

I see something like a bust, maybe British. Post it in the "What Is It" section.

Looks like a transit token. I have found a couple in my halves and nickels lately.

looks like an ebay 1/1 if you ask me.

Try posting in the What is it section. No embossing on it whatsoever? Probably a token of somekind, or a super super super rare quarter error(:

It might just be a slug

Nope, nothing. And I wouldn't mind it being a super super super rare quarter error lol

It could be but what I don't get is why it has the ridges then. Wouldn't a slug just have a flat edge?

Yah. Thats true. Very interesting

Do the ridges line up with a standard quarter? It could be a blank planchet I suppose, although the copper tone is very odd for it to be cut in quarter-size.

I don't think they do from what I remember

My guess is a blank planchet from some foreign coin.

There are 119 ridges on the US quarter, it there is more/less then 119 ridges, it is not a US planchet. good luck.

buff

Looks like a copper blank that are use for souvenir coins and tolkens. Some do come with ridges and other patterns.

If this coin is gold I would be pretty happy lol. Is there anything I could use to determine the metal content like a kit?

Just put it on a scale. It's the same size as a quarter. Compare it to a silver quarter. If its less then a silver quarter it couldn't be gold.
