I am new to this forum, and wanted to say hello and ask for help in IDing these two finds from Bentonville, NC. All help appreciated. Clip and button are separate objects, and the button is about the size of a pea.

would like to see other side of clip.I see no backmark on button,do you see anything? As a rule it is best to have a common coin in photo, size can make a big differance. Also, anything found with them?,,,welcome,I'm looking into them

clip...victorian pocket watch fob part...1234224547_Victorian_Pocket_Fob_Main_View100-1-620.webp....the button,without scale,size of pea,likely a collar or cuff button,perhaps same period.my best guess.early 20th cent.

I believe it's possible they were used together, as a cufflink, if found in close proximity. This style of cufflink makes it easier to "button" with one hand by having the elongated portion being the part that you maneuver... Easier to "stab" it into place than get a button in place (keeping in mind you're forced to do so with one hand). Here's a similar yet different example. I believe that's going to be earlier than 20th century. that may be 18th century. i'd sure do a lot more hunting in that area. neat finds!

Re: clip and button

Thanks, I think the new picture shows the other side of the clip. I saw no lettering on either and they were found within 10 yards of each other in a plowed field. The button part is smaller than a dime.
