Hello
I've been hunting a rev war area and site
Found some odds and ends a few musket balls piece of musket ( I think ) and this thing cork shaped not steel i tried doing a stamp on wax and I think I see words and a figure on it
Please send your guesses or if you know please tell me I hate to not recognize a good find when I find it. Or get excited over junk. Thanks east coast image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Looks old , if it 's lead my guess is a bag or bale seal.

It's something, but I don't believe it's a stamp. The side with the "figure" appears to just be random gouges in it. The other side is more interesting with what appears to be lettering around the ring. If it's lead I'm surprised it doesn't have a white patina on it. Did it? The shape of the item hints at it being used as some sort of plug. Not sure on age tho.

Great find what ever it is. I agree with Eric, the outer ring does look like it has letters or numbers.

I CONCUR BUT IM NOT SURE . IT MAY BE A WAX DOBBER OR STAMPER.

It was crusted but I could not make anything out until I cleaned it. I used only olive oil

Looks like a game bird with its tail up., but I'm just seeing things in the random pits/knocks.

I thought I saw a UFO but wasn't going to say anything.:laughing7:
