Hello, I recently inherited this coin and I’ve been doing some research and found it’s from a shipwreck off the Florida Keys. I’ve looked EVERYWHERE and can’t not find the value of this coin. I can’t even find the name of it or anything. Does anyone know? If so please tell me!! Thank you so much!! I want to sell it to someone who would appreciate it and who actually knows about the history beside it.

The tressure cross looks like a 1715 fleet coin. Also the shield looks like a Hapsburg shield. It's hard to tell without a close up picture of the coin so we can see the denomination and assayers marks. Can you post a bigger pic?

Shoot the jeweler for hanging it wrong...

PB = mint P ( Potosi) & assayer B =1576 - 1586 Juan de Ballesteros Narvaez or 1589 - 1615 Juan de Ballesteros Narvaez (X's on borders)

***Pete, clicking the pic then clicking again after pic loaded allowed me to get a large high res view...

Real nice piece. Maybe the jeweler didn't hang it badly. It could be loose in the mounting. Two left clicks on the pic fills my screen with chrome.

You need to show this item to someone who handles these coins. I see irregularities on both sides that make me suspicious.

Not getting all warm and fuzzy about this one...AT ALL.
Early period workmanship was a better than that !!! Lions and Castles just don't look right...the elements within the shield not looking correct, nothing much looks right at first impression. I'm just saying...need to show to someone who is on game. Just my opinion.
Don't take offense please, we all look at things differently.
Regards and good luck,
Trez
